Core competencies
FITZCARRALDO is an independent foundation focusing on ground breaking approaches in research,
consulting, training, and documentation on cultural, arts and media management, economics and
policies.
In particular FF is working on: 1) RESEARCH on cultural participation and production; 2) STRATEGIC
PROJECT DESIGN aimed to support cultural organizations and public bodies on drafting cultural policies;
3) FEASIBILITY STUDIES on how heritage sites can enjoy a renewed function; 4) SUPPORTING the
development of NEW BUSINESS MODELS for cultural and creative industries; 5) TRAINING, since 1993,
both running its own courses and collaborating with universities in Italy and Switzerland.
Since many years, FF have been improved a specific expertise on audience development processes
applied on cultural organizations through initiatives of research and capacity building at national and
international level. Among the most important EU projects: “CONNECT” that promotes cooperation
between universities and enterprises in the cultural sector to design, test and develop a twin-track
programme in AD for students and practitioners; “ADESTE+” (on going) that, leaded by FF in the
framework of Creative Europe, is a program for change that encourages audience-centric cultural
organizations across Europe, “EUheritage” (ongoing) that, in the framework of an ERASMUS+ Sector Skills
Alliance, aims to create a training programme on cultural heritage, experience cultural tourism and
digital tools.
