Core competencies

The Association of officers and sub-officers with university degrees of Hellenic Fire Corps (E.P.A.Y.P.S.)
is a non-
profit syndicate and its headquarters based in Athens. The E.P.A.Y.P.S. was created in August 2015 and
as a member
of EPAYPS register:
a) All the fire officers on duty of the Hellenic Fire Corps who hold a university degree in addition to the
fire officers
school degree.
B) All the Fire Warrant officers, Fire Sergeants, and Fire-fighters on duty who hold a university degree.
These members cover all the territory. The association organizes educational and professional seminars,
exhibitions
and athletic events for the members. It also creates special funds for the implementation of specific
and special
purposes aiming to promote the solidarity and the mutual help of the members.
In order to achieve its aims, the association has the right to address the administrative and other
authorities of the
country for every matter that it is related with the members and their interests.
So far he has been working closely through signing MoU with National Yunlin University of Science and
Technology
(YunTech), Central Police University, National Fire Agency and New Taipei City Government Fire
Department from
Taiwan and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) of USA. The purpose of these MoUs is to continue
to develop
and expand a framework of cooperation between the organizations to develop mutually beneficial
programs,
projects and activities in areas of mutual interest
Moreover participate as full parties in a Consortium for Research, Education, Advanced Technologies &
Environment
(CREATE) which is an International Consortium for Research and Innovation.
The majority of the of the Board of Directors were members of the Hellenic EU Presidency’s Civil
Protection Team
(2014), taking part in both the organization and the execution of the Table Top and Full-Scale Exercises
(TTX and
FSE) PROMETHEUS 2014 and EVITA 2014.
One of the aims of EPAYPS Advisory Board is to support research and networking in order to resolve
issues
concerning our institution operation and promote proposals for various reasons. The EPAYPS contributes
to cover the
Fire Service development needs in order to maintain a high level of expertise and implement innovative
ideas and
cutting-edge technologies.
