Core competencies

I am assistant professor of computer science and the head and founder of the Software Engineering and Information
Processing Laboratory (SEIP Lab) at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Rijeka, Croatia.

My main research interests are related to large scale and complex software systems that are evolutionary developed.
In a broader sense, I am also interested in a variety of large scale complex systems including smart cities,
telecommunication networks and others. In my investigation I actively perform experimentation within industry
context using real data and statistical, soft computing and optimization methods in the search for better
understanding of these systems. I was involved in number of research and technology projects on topic of information
and communication technologies with emphasis on quality aspects that these systems should build to provide satisfied
and required system behaviour. Currently I lead a research project Evolving Software Systems: Analysis and Innovative
Approaches for Smart Management (EVOSOFT) funded by Croatian Science Foundation.

Previously, I was working at Ericsson Nikola Tesla (ETK) and was actively involved in Ericsson Core Network
development. With their scholarship, I received the MSc and PhD degree from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering
and Computing, University of Zagreb, Croatia, in 2005 and 2009, respectively. The eight years of experience in R&D
projects developing large scale complex and distributed software systems that are evolutionary developed by globally
distributed teams have strongly influenced and motivated her research and have served as a platform for
experimentation, where she has continuously implemented her research results and is gaining motivation for further
research.

At the Faculty of Engineering, I participated in the development and realization of the new Study Programme of
Computer Science, served as the head of this programme, and the professional practice coordinator, established a
number of courses for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students including specialist education programs.
She founded the Software Engineering and Information Processing Laboratory (SEIP Lab) in 2011.
