Core competencies
The CEPRI (European Center for Flood Risk Prevention) is a non-profit organization (National Association of French
Local Authorities), founded in 2006, has more than ten years of expertise in Flood risk management
Its primary aim is to gather best practices for flood management within Europe and France in order to provide
appropriate resources and technical support to local authorities.
Leading the way for a better risk management policy, the CEPRI is as essential interlocutor between the State and
its local authorities for the prevention and management of floods, with more than 50 Technical meetings organized.
The CEPRI is also a Resource Center: CEPRI publishes methodological guides and reports gathering good practices in
France and in Europe, with more than 30 publications in flood risk management.
The CEPRI also works as network of risk prevention actors in France.
Its members are: 100 local authorities all over France and 10 national organizations representing local authorities.
The CEPRI is member of the Working Group on Flood (WG F) of the European Commission and has experience in
different European projects (Star-Flood, CapFlo, Flood Resilient Cities, Anywhere) as member, stakeholder,
external expert.
